Our Gun Insurance

Our gun insurance has been specially designed to provide cover to those people who already have their public liability insurance for shooting covered by their association, or those using non-firing replicas or decommissioned weapons for re-enactment purposes.

We cover most types of guns including air rifles, shotguns, rifles, antique, black powder and decommissioned historic weapons. In addition we cover most types of optics including night vision equipment as well as the accessories you need to use, store and clean your gun.

Our policy is designed to compliment the liability cover provided by your association. We don't provide liability cover as there's no reason for you to pay for it twice but please make sure your association membership covers your shooting activities.

Should the worst happen we are here to help. In addition to arranging the gun insurance policy for you we will also handle any claim on behalf of your insurer. This means that you will be dealing with people who understand what it takes to get your gun properly repaired or replaced as quickly as possible.

Our Associations

The assocations on our list provide their members with public liability insurance as part of their membership offering and are a great way to get your shooting or re-enactment display public liability insurance in addition to many other benefits.

The shooting organisations cater for different parts of the shooting comunity and together British Association for Shooting and Conservation, Clay Pigeon Shooting Association and Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust have over 170,000 members. The Military Vehicle Trust has over 6000 members. For more information on these organisations click the links below.

Gun Insurance FAQs

We insure your gun for the current market value, up to the value you declare so it is important that the amount you enter reflects the amount it would cost you to replace the gun with one of a similar age and condition.

For rare or antique guns we recommend that you otain a valuation from a valuer or Registered Firearms Dealer who sepcialises in similar firearms.

Unfortunately we can't cover any form of ammunition under the Noble Gun Insurance policy.

RFD stands for Registered Firearms Dealer. Any business that manufactures, sells or transfers shotguns, firearms or ammunition, and anyone involved in the repairing, testing or proving of them, must register with the police.

Being an RFD does not imply a particular level of expertise so when seeking advice or repairs it is important to check that the RFD in question has the relevent expertise you are looking for.

You must be 18 years of age to enter into an insurance legal contract. The policy should be taken out by a parent or guardian over 18 years of age.

Guns should only be insured by the person to whom they are owned and registered unless the gun has been transferred to a person under 18 in which case we will accept these being insured by the parent or guardian.

For more information on young people and shotguns visit BASC.
